5 Ways CCMH is Enhancing Mental Health Care in Columbia County
Columbia Community Mental Health (CCMH) has been a cornerstone of mental health support in Columbia County since 1975. As we continue to evolve and adapt to our community's changing needs, we're proud to highlight some ways we're enhancing our services to serve you better.
Are you aware of our wide range of services and resources available to you? We’re here to help create safe and supportive opportunities for healing and recovery for all. Here are five key areas where CCMH strives to make a difference within our community.
1. Comprehensive Crisis Intervention Services
We understand that mental health crises can happen at any time. That's why we've expanded our crisis intervention services to be available 24/7. Our crisis team responds quickly to calls from community members, schools, and law enforcement, providing immediate support for behavioral distress or mental health issues.
Whether you need de-escalation, counseling, or a brief assessment for further services, our team is here to help at no cost to you or your family.
2. Innovative Community-Based Programs
We're committed to helping individuals with severe and persistent mental illness achieve their goals of community-based living, employment, and self-advancement.
Our community-based services include individual and group treatment, case management, medication management, wellness coaching, and supported employment. By offering these services, we're helping individuals integrate fully into the community and lead more independent lives.
3. Expanded Residential Treatment Options
We recognize the need for comprehensive care. Our Alternatives and Cornerstone facilities provide 24/7 staffing to help residents gain the highest level of independence possible. These facilities offer therapy, skills training, and therapeutic activities designed to support wellness and community integration, providing a crucial stepping stone for many on their path to recovery.
4. Increased Accessibility Through Technology
To make our services even more accessible, CCMH has implemented a client portal on our website. This secure online platform allows clients to access their information and connect more easily with their care team. We strive to be responsive, accessible, and sensitive to the needs of all Columbia County residents who seek comprehensive and compassionate service for their health and wellness needs.
5. A Focus on Youth Mental Health
Recognizing the unique challenges young people face in our community, we’ve strengthened our focus on youth mental health services. We work closely with YouthLine to provide peer-to-peer support to youth in crisis. YouthLine is a 24/7, free, confidential teen crisis helpline. No problem is too big or too small.
At CCMH, we're committed to creating safe and supportive opportunities for healing and recovery for all Columbia County residents. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay, and we offer a discounted/sliding fee schedule based on family size and income.
If you or a loved one needs support, don't hesitate to contact us. Together, we can work towards a healthier, more resilient Columbia County.
